Zachary Cummings, Balloon Pilot
Speaker: Zachary Cummings, Balloon Pilot
Airplanes move along at anywhere from 90 kts to 200 kts per hour and that gives us a whole different perspective of terra firma. Aeronauts (aka Balloonists) certainly see things differently.
Zachary Axel Cummings presents an engaging overview of hot air ballooning, from its humorous historical roots to modern recreational and competitive uses. He details the flight process from both customer and pilot perspectives, emphasizing safety and team coordination. The presentation wraps up with insights on learning to fly and a Q&A session.
Zachary Axel Cummings is a seasoned hot air balloon pilot with Vista Balloons, based at Sportsman Airpark. Originally trained in the art of ballooning in Albuquerque, New Mexico, under the tutelage of Beth Wright-Smith—a direct descendant of the pioneering Wright brothers—Zachary brings a unique heritage and expertise to his flights.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Digital Communication Arts, integrating his passion for storytelling and technology with his aerial adventures. Zachary’s commitment to providing breathtaking and memorable experiences is evident in each flight he pilots, making the sky not just a journey, but a destination.
