ADS-B Flight Feeders at Home: Clearing the Clutter Rajeev Pandey, Ph.D. A Flight Feeder is a device that listens for ADS-B radio signals, decodes that information and provides the data to an internet-based data aggregator site. ADS-B Flight Feeders sit at the magical intersection of aviation, radio and computing, which led Rajeev Pandey (EAA #792467) to dive in deep with both feet. Rajeev is a tailwheel endorsed PP-ASEL, an extra-class Amateur Radio operator (call sign KC7WLW), and holds a PhD and has earned 9 patents in the field of Computer Science. He has built and is currently operating home ADS-B flight feeders for services such as ADS-B Exchange, ADSB.fi, AirNav RadarBox, FlightAware, FlightRadar24, and OpenSky Network. He is also hosting a feeder for PPS Flight Planning's Airport Watch. In this talk he will demonstrate various feeders and clear the clutter on how you can build (or host) your own ADS-B flight feeder for less money and in less time than the proverbial aviation hamburger run, as well as summarize what he has learned during his explorations of this fascinating space.
