Unscathed: Cirrus Parachute Save #77
The story of an actual emergency in a Cirrus aircraft, CAPS event #77, which was an engine seizure and subsequent deployment near Slate Creek, Idaho in 2018, told by Timothy Lewis, Cirrus Representative.
Timothy Lewis
is a Washington Pilot, Instructor, FAA Safety Team Local Representative and Aircraft Owner. He has been flying since 1989, has over 3500 hours all in single engine aircraft.
Tim is a specialist in Cirrus aircraft having the designation of Platinum Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot. He is the Chief Instructor for Northwest Flight Service in Spokane WA, a Platinum Cirrus Training and Service Center.
Cirrus Aircraft is the most popular single-engine piston aircraft manufacturer in the world and they have a very robust model specific flight and ground training regiment. Tim is the COPA Dean of the College of Flight Simulation as well as the chief instructor at Northwest Flight Service in Spokane.
He will be organizing the training event for Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association who will be renting the CAA clubhouse in May.
