Join the Columbia Aviation Association for an evening with Captain Randy Reinhofer from Columbia River Pilots. Columbia River Pilots are an association of 45 plus professional mariners licensed by the State of Oregon to provide maritime pilotage services to all ports on the lower Columbia and Willamette Rivers, operating in all weather conditions, day and night, year round.
Randy will share an inside look at what it takes to safely and efficiently guide large commercial vessels through one of the most challenging pilotage grounds in the world. Topics may include local knowledge and ship handling, risk mitigation and safety culture, continuing professional development and simulator training, and how pilotage supports commerce and regional economic activity.
