Ray Town passed away Friday evening October 19, 2001 while preparing for dinner. Ray was on the Lake Powell fly out with fellow club members. Despite the efforts of two club members who are doctors, the club has lost a valued and respected friend. Our hearts and prayers go out to Marilyn and the rest of the Town family. 600 people attended his funeral held Saturday, October 27th at 10:00am at St. Agnes Flannigan Chapel located on the Lewis and Clark College Campus. The services celebrated Ray's life and many friends and relatives spoke of his many contributions to the lives of others. Grandchildren played his favorite piano pieces and several songs were sung in his honor, including "I did it my way".. The reception at CAA clubhouse at 2pm was packed to standing room only. Outside on the ramp were Ray's aircraft and hearse. It was his last CAA function. He will not be forgotten. Obituary - The Oregonian, October 25, 2001 Photos of Ray, Marilyn and N117TT |
