Larry Brons' 1974 B55 Baron

Larry Brons  -  Beechcraft Baron N 3120W   Taxiing out at Astoria

The Beechcraft Twin
I bought the airplane in September of 2000. Bruce Bennett and I flew it home from Syracuse, NY. That was a great trip. I was able to really get the feel of the airplane as well as the experience of another long cross-country. We saw cruise TAS of 185 kts-190 kts, depending on the altitudes.

At one point we were IFR at FL 180, just to say we could. We still were climbing at several hundred fpm, so we probably could have gone higher.  The plane ran great and barely used any oil during the 17 hr trip.

I have flown it approximately 60 hours since I got it. Harper and Jacque Poling came with Kelley and I on a trip to Reno the first part of November. Nice smooth trip at 13,000 and 250 kt gs. (just a little tail wind). Only to get 126 kts at 23/23, 14,000 ft and 50 kt head wind. whew!
