John Walther's Baron N77100

1980 Beechcraft Baron E-55

Since September 2001 John Walther has been traveling in the style of a Fulton Baron.  This elegant bird is considered by many pilots to be the finest light twin aircraft in the air.  Speed, comfort, range, looks and quality are verbs and nouns prefaced with adjectives and adverbs such as great, stylish, fast, solid.  Flying UAO to John Wayne-Orange County in 4 hours provides strong competition to the airlines and the only security issue is fastening the seat belts and latching the door..

This airframe has been hidden in hangars during much of its 20+ years so it looks factory-new.  However, the panel is post 2001-Space Odyssey  with a full range of radios, navigational aids, glass cockpit enhancements and creature comforts.

Yea, it's what you would call a 'beefy' airplane with all the right provisions. John wouldn't steer you wrong.

History of the bird by JW

77100 is a 1981 E- model Baron that first flew July 15, 1983. It was stuck somewhere on the Beech assembly line for two years while they were shut down do to poor sales.  At that time high interest rates and outrageous insurance costs had GA at a stand still. I found the airplane in a hanger in Glendale, Arizona in early August of 2001.  It was covered with dust and apparently was in hiding as its owner was in the midst of a divorce and his wife's attorney was trying to find it.  A title search, pre-purchase inspection, a check written to the owner and my new found friend and I where heading north nonstop to Portland.

The bird has 1100 hrs. total time and aside the new radio stack John Van Bladeran and I installed, it is totally original. It's a great airplane to fly and I look forward to every trip.
