Bryan Sanderson's C-180+

1954 Cessna 180 N180BD

Bush plane? YES.  Bush pilot?  Of Course!

Byran bought this plane in 1986 and after flying it for five years, began a ten year project to give it a new life.  Highly modified with a 300 horsepower IO520D engine by AirPlanes, Inc , 3 bladed 88" McCauley prop and a Horton STOL kit, this is really a 185 class plane.  It leaps skyward at 2500 FPM at sea level and can streak along at 185MPH in cruise.  He also added a third window and extended the baggage compartment.  A clean red and white paint job completed the picture to make it a proud bird on the ramp.

It's great for a cross-country craft, but, it is most comfortable in high mountain strips, especially with big 850-6 tires and a stall speed of 43MPH.  Johnson Creek Idaho is a familiar airport to this and 100 other C180/185s the first weekend of August every year for the club's annual flyin and Yellow Pine Harmonica contest

Based at Workman Airpark, this classic bird can often be seen on Saturday breakfast flyouts with the Aurora Fliers and Drivers.
