To protect against viruses, Install Norton or McAffe antivirus software and set it to run the update daily.  Most of the viruses that have recently caused problems in the last couple are new ones that get sent as attachments on emails.  Updating the antivirus program is essential to ensure that you are protected.  Also, run the latest copy of browser software and do not open any strange looking emails.
