Samuel Frisella

CAA Life Member.  Joined CAA in 1959

A memorial Mass will be at 11am, Saturday, January 27, 2001 in St. Therese Catholic Church for Samuel Frisella who died January 25 at age 78.  A vigil will be at 7pm Friday January 26th in the church.

Mr. Frisella was born January 1, 1923 in St. Louis.  During WWII he served in the US Navy in the Pacific and was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross.  He moved to Portland in 1959 and was general manager of Melridge Aviation for 18 years before retiring in 1983.  He was a member of the St. Therese church.  In 1945 he married Norma Hagan.  Survivors include his wife; daughters, Denise and Barbara; sons, Gregory and Christopher; sister, June Gagnepaine; brothers, Joe, Frank, Pete, Angelo and Jim; and four grand-children.  His son, Mark, died in infancy.

Interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery.  The family suggests remembrances to the children's program at Pearson Air Museum, 1115 E. 5th Street, Vancouver, WA 98661.  Arrangements are by Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes.


2/1 --A moment of silence was held at the CAA club meeting on Thursday, Feb 1st in honor and remembrance of Sam.

Yo, CAA

I join with all members in missing our friend of many years, Sam Frisella.  I remember him as having sold me my first airplane, a Cessna 310B.  It is memorable because my kids loved it, in that it was just like the one Sky King flew (^_^)
