Mike Reese - Member of the Year 2002

At the annual Christmas social on December 8, 2002, Jim Matsies asked Patricia Reese to bring Mike to the stage where he was awarded the honor of Columbia Aviation Association's 2002 Member of the Year.  He was given a rousing ovation by the capacity crowd of members and spouses as he received a plaque, CAA commemorative jacket, special badge, free drinks for 2003 and the coveted member of the year private parking spot.

Mike has been a (CACC) CAA member since 1967 and became a Life Member upon reaching 25 years of membership and 65 years of age.  He has long been a very active member of the club and is best known in recent years as host of the annual CAA summer picnic at his McKinnon airport.  An excellent cook, he whips up the superb grub at the picnic,  assists Mike Ceccanti with the annual kick-off dinner in January, oversees what's happening in the kitchen whenever great food is being prepared and he provided a restaurant-quality grill to the club that's used for those great steak nights.  Thanks Mike!

As owner of some beautiful aircraft, including a Bucker-Jungmann, PA-18S Super Cub and his award-winning Grumman Widgeon G-44, Mike  can be seen in the air on CAA flyouts, at Sun and Fun, OSH and on the CAA web as
Plane-of-the-Month in September 2001
