Dear Douglas,

Members of the Columbia Aviation Association were sad to receive notification that
your father passed away.  Thank you for notifying us.  I have posted your notice on
our website so that all his fellow members will know of this sad new, and I will mention
it at this Thursday's meeting.

Our club is 50 years old and your father's record indicates that he was a member
for 33 years.  As a new member I did not know your father, but I'm certain he had
a long and enjoyable time as a long-time member of our club. Of 262 members on
our roster, only 27 people have been members longer than your father.

The Columbia Aviation Association sends our regrets and our regards to you and your family.

CAA member and webmaster

Jake,

Thanks for the kind words.  Dad loved flying all his life and he liked to go
to meetings when he was able.  I remember the father son nights at the old
clubhouse at PDX, especially the Confederate Airforce's B-17.  Thanks to the
CAA for all the memories.
