Rear Admiral Mike McCabe, US Navy Director of Air Warfare

How prepared is America for a military attack?  What is the Navy doing
to help America prepare?  Rear Admiral Mike McCabe, U.S.N., will
attempt to answer these questions at a talk, set for the anniversary of Pearl
Harbor, at the University of Portland. He will give the talk, one of
several Centennial lectures, on Friday, Dec. 7 at 7p.m. in Buckley
Center Auditorium on campus. The lecture is free and open to the
public.

After graduating from the University of Portland in 1970 McCabe flew
more than 150 combat missions over Vietnam. He served as second in
command at the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN).
McCabe is the Navy's Director of Air Warfare. He is the highest
ranking military official to graduate from the University.

McCabe comes from a long history of aviation. His father was a World
War II and Korean War Naval aviator, and his grandfather flew planes
until he was 77 years old.

He is the recipient of the Silver Star, DefeX-Mozilla-Status:
0009Medal, the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, a
Meritorious Service Medal, an Air Medal, and the Navy Achievement
Medal.
