Celebration of life memorial breakfast

Longtime CAA member and pilot Herman "Herm" Parsons died March 14, 2008, of complications of pneumonia at age 90.

Herm joined Columbia Aviation Association in 1951 was a member for 57 years.  He was the 10th president of CAA in 1958 and was a Life Member.  Herm was very well known and respected by aviators throughout the area.

Herman Parsons was born Oct. 6, 1917, in Portland. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was the operator of Aircraft Specialties FBO at Pearson Field, Vancouver, Washington for over 40 years. He also owned several used car lots in the Portland area.

He lived in the Woodburn-Salem area since 2003. In 1940, he married Janet Glover; she died in 1990. In 1990, he married Marti Schumacher; she died in 2005. In 2005, he married Helen Wegener.

Survivors include his wife; son, Michael; twin brother, Norman; and stepdaughter, Janet Halstead.


CAA members and friends are invited to the May 10th breakfast at 9:00am to honor the memory of Herm and his long life in aviation.
