J. Frank Schmidt, Jr. died Wednesday December 29, 2004

Frank Schmidt, Columbia Aviation Association life member, died at his ranch in Maupin with family members present on Wednesday, December 29, 2004. He was 85. Frank joined CAA in 1966 and was very active in the club. His fame as a nurseryman was worldwide. Considered the dean of Oregon's bountiful nursery plant industry, J. Frank Schmidt Jr. built an internationally renowned company yet was a man of great generosity and little pretense.
