| Walt Swan has been a member
of Columbia Aviation Association since 1973. He is a Life Member and a
former club President in the year 1986. Whatever is happening at the
club, Walt has been there for 34 years as a mainstream member. Flyouts, Thursday nights,
work parties, building maintenance, club events, he's really involved.
Walt is always a friendly person to chat with and of, course, a superb pilot who knows how to keep a Beech A36 in the air. He is instrument rated and holds ratings for single-engine land and sea, multiengine, rotorcraft-helicopter. Walt served as our Facilities Chairman in 2007 and made many improvements to our clubhouse and parking lot. He has spent countless hours ensuring that our facilities were promptly and properly maintained and that no identified maintenance issue was differed for another year. Through his efforts, many needed updates and repairs were completed. The 2007 Member of the Year Award is a very well deserved Swan Song, music to the ears of all CAA members. Walt is a major pillar and post who keeps the club going year after year. Seeing Walt and his wife Dianne beaming at the Christmas Party award ceremony on December 15, 2007 was delightful. Walt and Diane were married in 1961 and have three children and five grandchildren. Congratulations Walt! |
